Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on August 8, 1989, in Paris. When she was a kid she was enrolled in her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma chose to be an actor when she was six. For several years she was enrolled in the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing as well as dancing, and also acting. Her performances had been in a variety of Stagecoach as well as school plays by the time she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was published in 1999. Emma was discovered as a casting representative by her Oxford drama instructor. David Heyman announced to Emma that after eight consecutive auditions Emma and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's first cinematic appearance was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. It set records for the opening weekend and sales, and it was the highest-grossing film of 2001. The film was praised by critics who praised the film, particularly those who were young. The highly distributed British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. Emma's performance received nominations and later won awards in the film.
